Best Time to Post on TikTok in 2026: Day-by-Day Guide

Wondering when to post on TikTok? There’s still no single answer. Scheduling tools have studied millions of posts, and their data gives you a place to start, but they don’t agree. This guide covers the best time to post on TikTok in 2026 for every day of the week, how time zones change things, and how to find your own times. Still, treat every time here as general guidance, not a rule. Sources were checked in October 2026.

Quick answer: best times to post on TikTok (2026)

  • Buffer (7.1 million posts, September 2026): Sunday 9 a.m., Monday 1 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. top the list, and evenings from 6 to 11 p.m. did well on most days.
  • Sprout Social (about 2 billion engagements, updated March 2026): Tuesday to Thursday, roughly 2 to 6 p.m. local time.
  • Hootsuite (2025 data) also points to Thursday mornings and Saturday midday.

Those don’t line up, however, which is the point. So your audience decides.

Best time to post on TikTok by day

Here is each day, with what each study says. Where RecurPost is mentioned, though, its times are US Eastern.

Simple chart of the best times to post on TikTok for each day of the week, based on four studies

Monday

The best time to post on TikTok on Monday is generally early to late afternoon in most studies. Buffer says 1 p.m., Sprout says 3 to 5 p.m., Hootsuite says 5 p.m. and RecurPost says 1 p.m. ET. If you post on Mondays, then try lunchtime first.

Tuesday

Buffer points to 6 a.m., then 10 p.m. Sprout prefers 2 to 6 p.m., Hootsuite 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and RecurPost 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. ET. So start with lunchtime or mid-afternoon.

Wednesday

Buffer says 10 p.m. and calls Wednesday a quieter day overall. Sprout’s widest window, however, is here, 1 to 8 p.m. Hootsuite says 4 to 6 p.m. and RecurPost says 9 p.m. ET. So evening is the common thread.

Thursday

Buffer picks 1 p.m. and Sprout says 1 to 5 p.m. Hootsuite goes early, 7 to 9 a.m., and RecurPost says 10 or 11 a.m. ET. So morning and early afternoon both have support.

Friday

The best time to post on TikTok on Friday generally leans late. Buffer says 6 p.m., Hootsuite 4 to 6 p.m., Sprout 3 to 5 p.m. and RecurPost 8 p.m. ET. Late afternoon into the evening is a sensible start.

Saturday

Buffer found Saturday its strongest day overall, with 5 p.m. on top. Hootsuite says 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and RecurPost says 8 p.m. ET. Sprout, however, disagrees and says weekends are weakest.

Sunday

Buffer’s single best slot of the week is Sunday at 9 a.m. Hootsuite says 8 a.m. to noon and RecurPost says noon to 4 p.m. ET. Sprout, however, ranks Sunday low. So morning is the best bet.

Weekday vs weekend, and how often to post

On the best days to post on TikTok, though, studies split. Sprout favors midweek. Buffer and Hootsuite found strong weekend slots. So test both.

For how often, Buffer says consistency matters more than posting every day. Hootsuite says TikTok recommends one to four posts a day, though I couldn’t confirm that on TikTok’s own site. So pick a pace you can keep up.

How to find your own best time in TikTok Analytics

This part matters most. TikTok shows when your followers are active. Switch to a Creator or Business account if you haven’t, open TikTok Studio, go to Analytics, then the Followers tab, and look for “most active times.” Check the menu names in your app, as they change. Buffer suggests posting a little before your peak.

Then test. Try three or four slots, each for two to four weeks. Then write down views, watch time, shares and new followers for every post. Compare, and retest every few months, because audiences change.

If you’re searching for the best time to post on TikTok today, look up today’s weekday above, then pick the next window still ahead of you in your audience’s local time. RecurPost calls roughly 1 to 5 a.m. Eastern the weakest stretch.

Time zones: EST, PST, CST and GMT

Most advice, however, goes wrong here. Buffer adjusts its times for you. Sprout and Hootsuite use the viewer’s local time. RecurPost uses US Eastern.

For the best time to post on TikTok in PST, start from RecurPost’s numbers and subtract three hours. Its Monday 1 p.m. ET slot becomes 10 a.m. PST, and 8 p.m. ET becomes 5 p.m. PST. CST is one hour behind EST, and daylight saving can shift things by an hour. If your viewers are in the UK, Canada or Australia, convert from their local time, not yours.

Best time to post on TikTok for views, small accounts and business

Timing helps a little. It doesn’t carry a video. Buffer says that if a video isn’t getting views, look at watch time first, and RecurPost says timing won’t rescue a weak hook. No time is a promise of going viral. Get the first few seconds right, then worry about the clock.

With a small account, you don’t have much data yet. Use one of the slots above, post at the same times for a couple of weeks and keep notes. Businesses should lean on their own audience analytics and match posts to when customers are online, not to a generic chart.

Hashtags and timing work together, but neither one carries a video. Hashtags help TikTok and viewers understand what a video is about, and timing helps the right people see it early. I’d use a few that fit the video, not a pile of them. Three or four relevant tags beat twenty loose ones. When you test posting times, keep your hashtag approach steady, so you know which change moved your numbers. For more, see our guide to TikTok hashtags.
